In 100 words or less tell us how you are a leader
I have always been a leader. I just didn't know it until I became a single mother, until I had to go back to college to enhance my career, until I volunteered for those less fortunate and realized that I wanted to give them a voice and power. There is a leader in all of us, when you find a cause to fight for or a passion you want to share with others it will manifest itself. Mine is Integrative Wellness for women.

Are you on Facebook and LinkedIn?

I would like to connect with you there also. I am trying to make more friends and fans so that I can spread awareness for breast cancer during pregnancy. I was diagnosed Stage 3 in the 5th month of my pregnancy in May. My status updates on Facebook and LinkedIn are usually about my fight.

Hey there! My book can be purchased at www.lulu.com-Saltwater Taffy and Red High Heels. Thank you for the compliment. I actually shaved my long hair before I started chemo. It was my way of accepting it and moving forward. It really took me a LONG time to decide on the chemo because I didn't think I could live without my hair. Isn't that silly? I talk about that extensively in the book. Funny thing is I actually like the short hair because I am always getting compared to Halle Berry (back in her BAPS days-LOL)

Hi Tami,
I think it was you who said you were a Kiva, org girl. Just checked out the website briefly. Love it! What a great concept. It's opening my mind to so many options for my organization dream. Thanks for sharing the information. Looking forward to seeing if your name, and the others here in this community are finalists tomorrow. I will be cheering for all of you!
Take care,
Lynn

Thank you Tammy. I am in the process of moving my 2 blogs and site to jennymannion.com but that will be a while! Right now the best site to look at to learn more about me is Heal Pain Naturally -- also you can email me at jennymannion.com to talk more directly.... I wind up giving out a lot more ebooks than I sell which is fine for me -- what is important is me getting my message out there. I know first hand how bad health can affect finances... I don't want to hold back what helped me from anyone... Looking forward to talking more! Gratefully, Jenny

Tammy-I became a single mother when I was nineteen and a freshmen in college. Everyone told me that if I had my baby that I would not graduate. I took a year off to have her and returned to college and graduated with Honors and 2nd in my class. Being a single mother forces you to strive harder and become more self assured and determined. I finally met my Prince Charming last year at the age of 35! Keep Hope Alive! LOL

Good Evening Tammy, Thank you for welcoming me into this amazing community. It is such a blessing to be able to meet and network with so many talented and inspirational women.
You hit the head on the nail when you say, that there is a leader in of all us. I want everyone that I come in contact with to identify that quality within themselves and that's why I feel that it is so important to focus on the strenghts.
I am in two distinctively different businesses that support each other and the beauty industry.
First, I am the owner of Nails Naturally Hand and Foot Spa in downtown Chicago. I celebrated 19 years in business this past March. My second business is Speaking on Point which was established in 2000. I use the two to support and build other women in the beauty industry with a focus on nail technicians...the industry's stepchild. I give back to my industry through education and to the community by speaking to teen and women organization.
However, I have finally figured out what I want to do when I grow up and that is my focus now.

Thanks for sharing your idea of how you're a leader. I believe all of us have leadership qualities in us but it takes a particular situation for us to actually realize it. Congrats on going back to school to enhance your career and continue being the voice for those less fortunate.
