Shannon,
Judy Karanjef from the Michigan Women's Commission connected us several months ago but I lost your phone number when my computer crashed. I am running for State Representative 92nd District as a Democrat in 2010 for an open seat and want to talk with you about my campaign and how The White House Project can help.

Hi Shannon,

Strange, but it occurred to me earlier today that I have not heard from TWHP in a while. Turns out it's because I changed internet subscribers and forgot to change my e-mail with TWHP. Other than that, I've been so busy, I didn't notice.

Just wanted to let you know I finally finished my thesis in March and I now have my MPA. My title? "Utilizing School Health Services to Improve Educational Capacity and Provide a More Effective Public Health Response." The finished product was quite lengthy but, without trying to be immodest, I think it is quite good and I am satisfied with it. Now, I am working on trying to garner some support amongst political leaders. I started with high hopes and sent messages to both Senators Levin and Stabenow; unfortunately, they never responded. I have a meeting with State Sen. Deb Cherry next week. The problem is that it's a huge paradigm shift and someone would have to be very brave to take it on!

With all the hoopla about health care reform, this would fit right in. The numbers are indeed frightening, because Medicaid alone is putting some scary pressure on Federal and State budgets. If all else fails, I'll start going to the media myself. I also considering writing some professional papers to try to garner support. Wish me luck!
