In 100 words or less tell us how you are a leader
The first thing that pops into my head is that I am accessible. I will often find ways to interact with people who are on the margins, in all sorts of situations. I try to see beyond a person's exterior and keep in mind that each of us has a story. I like to draw people out, and I ask a lot of questions! I'm a leader in my home, teaching my children, as a volunteer at school, in youth ministry, and as I write. I also lead by being transparent so others feel comfortable sharing themselves. I love sharing ideas and seeing someone else with the same ideas light up as they give voice to their dreams.

Hello Lynn! I apologize for the glitch with the conference line last night. Apparently Sunday evening is a popular time to host conferences. I am trying to get a tally of our members who are interested in participating in this new project. If you can please let me know by this evening I will get you into an assignment and then a team leader will be contacting you shortly.

Thanks! Hope you are doing well...I know you recently moved and I am having to go through that as well. My husband is being given new orders, so away we go! Fixing up our house to get it on the market is a huge pain...I wish it could just be done!

Glad to hear that things are going well for you! Have a great day!

Hello Lynn! I was so happy to hear from you! Glad to hear your home sold...that is quite a feat in this current market. We have not put ours up yet...our orders here in Michigan were extended for another year, so I decided to wait a bit before I tackled that task.

The next project will start in about a week, and I am pleased that you will join us. I do not know if I told you, but the home we live in was built in 1930 and I love it...so much architecture and beauty that is not used in today's construction. We are always working on something around here, but it is such a wonderful home with lots of history. I am sure your new home is the same way. Congratulations on your new home and the successful sale of the old one.

We will talk soon!

Hello Lynn! Sorry you missed the call today...I know you are busy, but we had a great start. I put some notes up on the Maximized page under the conversation labeled "Program Ideas and Suggestions", so check it out.

We have assigned some work for each of us to complete, and this will all be outlined there. If you have any questions let me know. We had an awesome start, and I know we will accomplish what we have started out to do, so I hope you will join us.

Take care and I look forward to speaking with you soon. Oh, and good luck putting your house up...I know we are nervous, but hopeful as we have to move next year in June. We are trying to get a few things done around here just as I am sure you all are. Let me know how it goes!

Lynn you are talking about my life!!!! How funny! I am trying to get our house on the market so we can move back to Arizona, assisting with my daughter's 6th grade luncheon this Friday and preparing to leave for our 30 day jaunt to Arizona in 10 days or so along with normal life...I think that if my life were slow and easy I would be bored!!!! If you can make it today on the call the number is 1-712-421-8198 and then you enter the Conference Passcode when prompted which is 85365 and hit the # sign and you are on. Hope to speak with you today otherwise I will catch up with you later. Have a great day!

Hello Lynn! I just wanted to see if you have had an opportunity to check out the Maximized page, and to invite you to join our conference discussion tomorrow (Wed., May 28th) at 1 PM (EST) where we will discuss the Maximize the Moment program. This program is similar to that of the training as it will allow us to pool the talents and abilities of the women in this network and assist each other in business or venture needs.

The instructions for the call are on the Maximized page under a blog titled agenda and instructions for call. Join us for 15 minutes, or for the full call, but please join in the discussion as we structure this program to help us all succeed.

If you have any questions please let me know. I look forward to speaking with you tomorrow! Have a great day!

Power Mommies
(A poem for all of the power mommies on the White House Project)

Our days are long, the thanks are few but there is something special about what we do,
We wake up at the crack of dawn; pray for wisdom and guidance so we can make it through.
We fax our bid, finish a dozen emails and whip up breakfast and yeah--sometimes burn the toast.
We change many diapers, pack up backpacks while we answer calls from coast to coast.

We are power mommies, that is what we do,
We are power mommies, through and through.

We glance at our Outlook, while we read the latest report,
But our focus stays constant while our sons play on their fort.
We never set an appointment without careful consideration,
To ensure we help our daughters with their report on the United Nations.

We are power mommies, that is what we do,
We are power mommies through and through.

There are days when we are exhausted beyond measure,
Truth be told for us, our motivation is but a heartfelt treasure.
We purpose in our lives to be vibrant professionals and great mothers,
We can do just about anything—heck-- even go undercover!

We are power mommies, that is what we do,
We are power mommies through and through.

We can do just about anything but sometimes encouragement and compliments are few,
Whether it is guiding huge corporations or serving the homeless with our crew,
We come in all shapes and sizes and beautiful colors galore,
We are inspiring and gifted so watch out cause there is so much more!

We are power mommies, that is what we do,
We are power mommies through and through.

To be continued……….

You are welcome Lynn. I feel the same way you do about how the Kiva.Org webpage opens your mind up to many more possibilities. Thanks for sharing your webpage also, it does the same thing.

Thanks Sharmina,
I have a blog at lynnhouse.wordpress.com
A lot of the stuff I have written on my blog is either about parenting boys - Earth Day blog will give you an idea of my wacky humor. The stuff earlier this year will give you an idea of my serious, reflective side. It's honestly stuff that just comes out and I often don't take the time to proof it very well. Other stuff I do is corporate web-writing. I'm much more careful about editing those things.
Thanks for replying. It's been so good to read your comments and those of others. I told my husband it is very empowering! It's my 40th b-day today so I'm going to go run around town and maybe paint a bit (a new hobby). Take care!
