Quotes of cooperation

Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success. ~Henry Ford

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. ~Helen Keller

We cannot destroy kindred: our chains stretch a little sometimes, but they never break. ~Marquise de Sévigné

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I… Continue

Women are so amazing

Just seeing the various posts and messages on everyone's site, I'm so honored to be a part of this. We all have so much to contribute to this world; and what each of us is doing, is so very important. Let's keep supporting each other, cheering each other on, and being the most awesome 'gir… Continue

The Why

I was determined to find answers to my many questions. I perused the internet and many medical journals at the library. I found out more about TIA's than any one person should ever have to know! However, my emotional state was still at a standstill.

I have the most wonderful support system. I have a husband who adores me and would do anything for me. My sister is the most courageous woman I know, she has been living with terminal cancer for eleven years. A better set of rocks; no one could ever… Continue

Keeping the pace

I'd like to introduce myself and the group to you! WIRED4LIFE is my passion; it provides emotional and educational support to women with pacemakers. We currently have 120 members from all over the globe! We 'meet' every Saturday morning for an online chat; most of the time we catch up on each other's news, and we always discuss heart issues/concerns that a member might have. We have members who have had 8 implants throughout their life; and some who have recently become 'wired.' We call these la… Continue

Are you on Facebook and LinkedIn?

I would like to connect with you there also. I am trying to make more friends and fans so that I can spread awareness for breast cancer during pregnancy. I was diagnosed Stage 3 in the 5th month of my pregnancy in May. My status updates on Facebook and LinkedIn are usually about my fight.

My dream is to lead my country. I want to some day not far away to become the first hispanic woman president of the United States. I know people laugh and think I am crazy for thinking this way. But I know a young man who had dreams and high hopes and he fullfil his dream and he is now the president of this great country. Barack Obama had showned me that if you put effort and faith into your dreams they do come true.

Hi Dawn -
Nope, I'm not a native, but it has been an incredible treat to live in Santa Barbara for the last 14 year raising my kids here. I'm originally from Copenhagen, Denmark and have lived in the United States for the last 24 years.

Your support group sounds wonderful and I have incredible respect for anyone who stands up and takes action for the things they believe. Even though I have not been very active in this blog/portal, I love the way we all can connect and share our experiences. Thanks for reaching out.

Hi Dawn,
You are really connected!! What a wonderful tribute you have given to other women that are "wired for life". I have a friend & client that wears a pacemaker. I am also a massage therapist, and the first time I gave him a massage he neglected to tell me he had a pacemaker (even though I asked if there were any medical conditions). You can imagine my look when I started to get too close to the ticker!! Wonderful that you have created a place were people from all over can connect. I have a huge event that I am hosting through my organization, the Holistic Mentorship Network, this Friday May 16th. It is a network gathering at a huge hospital in my area for anyone interested in holistic practice. We have about 130-150 people attending. Not bad for putting this together in 2 1/2 months. Just goes to show what you can accomplish in a short amount of time if you keep your focus. Very cool to be a part of this community of leaders!!

Thanks for tapping me to be part of your network. I like your picture, of you having tea, so sweet. My picture is from a ski trip with my family up in North Tahoe. We are sitting waiting for breakfast in town! I was tempted to put a picture of my dogs....hee hee

What an awesome community of women I've seemed to join! Your story is inspiring, to say the least, and I feel fortunate to be a part of such a group as this.
