The White House Project Go Run New York 2008- Alumnae

This will be a forum for alumnae to keep each other updated and help each other win our preferred political seats. I hope this will be a place where we can ask for help on our campaigns and a place to get the support we need to go after our dreams.

HEY EVERYONE. JUST WANTED TO DROP A NOTE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT MY CAMPAIGN IS HEATING UP. MY OPPONENT HAS ALREADY SENT A MESSENGER TO MAKE AN OFFER FOR ME TO DROP OUT. GUESS WHAT I SAID????? : } AFTER I STOPPED LAUGHING I POLITELY SAID "NO THANKS" SHE IS VERY NERVOUS. I'M OUT WALKING AND KNOCKING ON MY DAYS OFF. THE RESPONSE IS OVER-WHELMING. I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU AGAIN FOR THE INSPIRATIONAL WEEKEND. I HAVE THIS AMAZING INNER STRENGTH NOW BECAUSE OF ALL OF YOU. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING 100 WOMEN CAN'T DO IN A ROOM TOGETHER OVER A WEEKEND. ON ANOTHER NOTE A VERY DEAR FRIEND OF MY KARLA HAS JUST JOINED THE PROJECT. SHE IS IN KUWAIT. PLEASE WELCOME HER AND INSPIRE HER AS MUCH AS YOU HAVE ME. THANKS AGAIN.

Is it really a glass ceiling or is it impenetrable Plexiglas? Is it a carefully fashioned allusion keeping us POC’s hopeful, making us believe we truly have access so we will stay in line? What has been your experience as a woman of color?

A place to explore the interchange of faith, gender and social activism. What does it mean to be a woman of faith in these times? What does our faith say about our struggles as women and creators?
