The White House Project

Hi Ohio "Go Run" Gals,

A friend of mine from the campaign trail has started a new program called the SWING SEMESTER: www.swingsemester.org. Please check out the webpage and their job board, THE SWING BOARD. This is a great resource if you, or a young person you know, is job-seeking, or you are an employer/candidate looking for staff, interns or volunteers. I've included a message from the National Director, Stella Shaw, below:

Swing Semester is a non-profit organization that encourages young people (non-students, students, recent grads) to move to a swing state and get involved in progressive work this fall. We offer Swing Semester 2008, a 10-week program that supports young people who are on the ground working at organizations like yours. We give them free housing by matching them with swing state host families, hook them up with trainings and partner groups in their cities, and form communities among them through social events and progressive reading groups. We can even help them gain academic credit for their experience.

This fall, the Swing Semester 2008 program will be operating in 8 cities: Albuquerque, NM; Cincinnati, OH; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Denver, CO; Manchester, NH; Richmond, VA; and VA Beach, VA.

I wanted to let you know about SWING BOARD - it is a free job board that lists any and all opportunities for progressives to get involved in progressive work in swing states. Listed positions may be paid or volunteer, part time or full time. We are just launching Swing Board and would love to have your organization post jobs on it.

If you would like to post a job, internship or volunteer opportunity please go to www.swingsemester.org/swingboard.

Feel free to call me with any questions.
