Anybody have any good news? Me? I have the summer off from classes, so I only have to focus on my kids, husband and job as county commissioner. Nice break. Have been in the garden, on nature trails...*sigh*

Congratulations Mishelle and Laura but also to everyone who ran (win or not). It takes confidence and bravery to put yourself out there in the public spotlight. You are great role models for all of us!

Also - everyone should be sure to check out the invitation to Mishelle Kennedy's swearing in ceremony! It's under the events banner (to the right and down on this page) at http://leaders.thewhitehouseproject.org/events/swearing-in-ceremony-for. Congratulations to Mishelle - we are proud of you, as well!!

Laura - Your race proves the value of each individual vote! Be sure to tell everyone you know how close your race was - it's a true lesson that every vote counts! Congratulations - we are so proud of you!

Is it really a glass ceiling or is it impenetrable Plexiglas? Is it a carefully fashioned allusion keeping us POC’s hopeful, making us believe we truly have access so we will stay in line? What has been your experience as a woman of color?

A place to explore the interchange of faith, gender and social activism. What does it mean to be a woman of faith in these times? What does our faith say about our struggles as women and creators?
