I motative and stimulate women both young and mature women. I make women feel good about themselves as well as letting them know there is nothing they can not do. I learned this technique raising my three daughters I was their first role model. I also mentored their friends. When there friends would come over they would make sure they come to my room so I could give the some words of wisdom. What inspired me to coach is because there was no coach for me and I wanted to make sure that my daughters knew that nothing was impossible. Two of my daughters have Master degrees and the youngest is working on her Bachlor's degree. My motto is "excellence is expected." My daughter's and there friends are all grown and own there own businesses. I enjoy coaching.

It seems that so many of us keep joining similar groups-it is obvious that this forum is a way to connect us all together so we can achieve a greater purpose. Let's go and strive together!

Sharmina,
I think we can all exchange what we feel passionate about and learn from each other. Your idea of putting together our experiences somehow is a wonderful one. We'll have to figure a way to channel our inputs, questions, ideas in a way that is welcoming to everyone to participate, to feel part of, to add value to. There's so much coaching info out there, theories, applications, books...it can be overwhelming~. I think this is a beginning for us to share what we know and do at our best and what we want to do more, learn about, exchange....who knows? we may be featured at Oprah! :)

This is so informative! We should create a pamphlet or book based on our experiences to help others or perhaps even create a training of our own.

Let me know what you think!

Michelle,
I was exposed to Appreciative coaching first in my former corporate life as a HR advisor 5 years ago. I took some training, then and implemented it with great success...its' been on my mind ever since. Last January while researching some online coaching programs I was truly blessed to find the Appreciative Coaching program at Fielding which was being offered for first time. It has truly opened in a more systematic way what I want to do with my career coaching practice and as every student gets paired you get to coach and be coached in a wonderful way. Once the program was over I'd say quite a good number of the participants have kept their coaching relationships, including myself. So, it is a win-win! Read the book and decide. They also offered an Evidence Based Coaching programs that I am hoping to take early next year.
