Thank you TaNisha for creating this forum! btw, my daughter's name is NaTasha -- seems connected! :)
As a certified coach and retreat leader, I am so committed to empowering others to build their dreams! I've reinvented myself numerous times throughout my life, directed by the passion of my True self that was present. You can do it too. It just takes devotion (a form of discipline based on a feminine principle of self-love). I have supported many to bring their dreams out of the shadows of their hearts and imaginations, clarify them in the light and then take the authentic action that moves them forward.

I love the poems - each unique voice calling to be heard. I hear the longing for rising above the winds of culture and flying from the heart and depths of who you really are. Right ON!

Boozhoo (Hello) TaNisha (words are in Ojibwe)
Miigwetch (thank you) to be a part of the build your dream forum. Miigwetch for inviting me. I am looking forward to attending Rural Go Run in Tower, MN on May 1, 2, and 3. I am currently getting ready to graduate with my Master in Social Work Degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth on May 14, 2009. I do have some poems I will share in the near future. I look forward to the continued discussion.

Build your dreams - ever need to tell someone who had the dreams to just go take charge of them? How do you help that person across that threshhold?

Hi Anneliese!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful poem in my group discussion. It displays in my mind how we can overcome difficult times and those paths that seem so arduous, in deed, make us stronger. When those moments past, in present time, aren't as bad.

Hello :) that was beautiful! I have a poem to share as well:

Freedom
I know the water
With it's deep dark depths
I have felt the icy coldness
of the subterranean caves
I know what dwells
Under rocks and sunken boulders
I have met and spoken with
The ones that have no name

I have swum up and reached out
Feeling the water resisting my strokes
With my striving I have risen inch by inch to the surface
Breaking through that barrier and breathing in the fresh air
Feeling the sun once more on my skin
Hearing again the sounds of life
Seeing around me the colours of the Earth
Smelling the sweet scents of nature

And still yet I ascend
The water dripping from me
And I fly
I am light and free and beautiful
I am home
As I follow my wisdom
Along the path that is mine
I sometimes look below
And see the water there

I smile and do not fear it
Or the ones who whisper from the deep
I don't fear to return there
To the shadow and the cold
I learnt many mysteries there
The secrets of the depths
The darkness did not defeat me
It taught me to fly

I raise my eyes once more
To look high above me
To the stars and the moon
To the sun shining brightly
And all that is beyond
I fly here above the treetops
And hear the whispers from the deep.

Hi! I wrote the poem below and it is called, "Yesterday".

Wishing seems to be the verb of the day
An action that shows no progress
In one spot I stay, expecting less

Accepting my self-worth through someone else's eyes
Instead of truth, my life eases into lies

Clouds of mist cover my dreams
A foggy memory of what I wanted my life to mean

Wishing for everything to get better
That something will make all of this ok
That call I could make, or letter
Telling everyone of my new day

This waiting & wishing really kind of sucks
To completely change my life will take a lot of guts

I need to be someone who is brand new
I want to be glorious
So, right now, this moment, what am I going to do

I am working in a document about unemployment and the economic crisis. I am sure we have to reorganize the marketing strategies and reinvent our economy.
