Thanks for the call Kelley! What a boost!

On my page under projects is my flyer that I am passing out as I am knocking on doors. My signs will be up Wednesday on 8 corners in my tiny town, but here is what I am doing.

I am running for one of 4 city council seats in the city of Nowthen, MN. Nowthen was recently incorporated and this is the last step to make it official. This is a special election, and we have had less than a month to get out there. My name and the rest of the other candidates were posted in the paper last week, about half are from the old township board or commities. I am running against two good ol boys and one new comer, but I think the fact that me being the only woman running is actually going to be on my side. We are half farm land half new construction with some commercial zoning.

I have my support network here and working for me, just good thoughts, support, and suggestions from all of you will be great!!

This is such an honor! and still a shock. And thank you everyone!

I have a few things to share:

When canvassing, even if the home already has a campaign sign in it, stop anyway. The most they can do is not answer the door or immediately tell you that they are voting for the other guy. But I was amazed at the great reception when I did stop at those houses. No information went out about any of the candidates other than names, and that was the local paper. So stop, sometimes the yard sign is only there because that is who they voted for last time.

Do your own canvassing as much as you can, meet the public, voter's love that you yourself take the time to talk to them. Word of mouth spreads much faster than anything done by mail or phone.

And most of all, just go and do it. Put on your big girl panties, grab your lipstick, and go out and make the change you want to see in the world (ghandi).

Hello Fellow Go Runners:
I really need some help in the area of fundraising. I have done just over $1,000.00 since April 1st. I need to kick it into high gear now to get ready to place my lawn sign order so I can have those ready to go on August 1st. I need approximately $600. for the lawn signs. I am running for City Council in Cottage Grove, Minn. There are 2 wide open seats. The 2 current would be incumbants are both running for Mayor. I am one of 3 running for the 2 seats on the Council. I am the only female. One of the other candidates is a progressive like me and the other is...well...not progressive! I have heard some great support from the people I have talked to so far. I am putting my link to my "in progress" website here and I would love to hear from you with your support. I'll take any sort of support you have to give...your cheers, your monetary donation or if you know somebody in Cottage Grove, please refer them to my website. Thanks so much.

Just so you know...I am having a blast campaigning. I fell totally prepared with all the great help, training and support I have gotten over the last few years from the WHP. I hope someday you all get to have fun like this too!

Hi Kelley: I'm running to be the 75th Mayor of Albany, New York in November, 2009. I have attended the "GO RUN" events, but I am still a bit nervous. I will stay in contact with you as I forge ahead, and of course, you may email me with comments. Thanks, Valerie F. Faust

OK, Kelly, this is a last-minute decision, but I'm thinking about running for State Board of Education. Applications are due in August, I think. I'm in district 9, which looks like the second largest district in Ohio, by county. Maybe not by population. I have no idea where to start. Help!

I am working in a document about unemployment and the economic crisis. I am sure we have to reorganize the marketing strategies and reinvent our economy.
